L&A was contracted in June of 2014 to prepare the Pre-Construction Notification (PCN) for the Shaw Road Emergency Bridge project, which involved the replacement of the former bridge that was washed out during a severe rain event with a new hydraulically adequate structure. Based on the findings of the ecological survey and review of impacts of the proposed design, the project met the conditions of Nationwide Permit (NWP) #14 – Linear Transportation. Given this bridge was part of a key school bus route, L&A sought and obtained an expedited USACE review of the permit application allowing the project to be constructed in time for the 2014-2015 school year.
