NEPA Training

OHIO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

The Ohio Department of Transportation, Office of Environmental Services (ODOT-OES), provides a two-day training course on the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) as implemented by ODOT. The course is a prequalification requirement for those firms interested in preparing Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessment and Environmental Impact Statements for ODOT. The course builds upon ODOT’s extensive on-line environmental training by focusing on project management strategies for all disciplines under the NEPA umbrella. L&A has served as the primary instructor since 2013. In 2019, L&A led the effort to condense the course from 5 days to 2 days, with a focus on NEPA project management. L&A provides a NEPA specialist’s perspective on managing ecological studies, waterway permitting, cultural resources, Section 4(f), regulated materials, transportation noise analyses and air quality.
