Susan S. Daniels, PE, AICP

Principal, Director of NEPA/Planning

Ms. Daniels is a Managing Principal and the Director of L&A’s NEPA/Planning Division. She oversees transportation projects involving NEPA documentation and supporting studies including archaeology, history/architecture, ecological survey and permitting, noise and air quality modeling, environmental site assessment and remediation, asbestos and lead consulting and public involvement. In addition to her administrative responsibilities, Susan has 31 years of experience in environmental planning and preliminary engineering, specializing in the National Environmental Policy Act and related regulations. Her diverse experience includes site selection studies, Environmental Impact Statements, Environmental Assessments and Categorical Exclusions. Ms. Daniels has been responsible for overseeing teams of engineers and scientists in order to achieve state and federal environmental approvals of projects ranging from a wetland restoration for the National Park Service to a $1.2 billion urban roadway reconstruction project for the Federal Highway Administration. She is recognized for her expertise in public involvement, leading outreach activities such as advisory committees, open-house public meetings and public hearings.
