Wooster Loop Shared-Use Path Phases I & II

CITY OF WOOSTER

These projects provided new shared-use (or multi-use) paths and bike lanes in the City of Wooster to connect pedestrian generators within the city. Phase I involved designing a 10-foot wide path and preparing pavement marking/signage plans to create a bike lane on existing pavement to connect schools on the north end of the city with the College of Wooster and the city’s downtown. Phase II involved two different 10-foot wide paths that provided connectivity between existing paths within the city. L&A provided environmental studies to support a Categorical Exclusion (CE) prepared by ODOT District 3 for Phase I. When Phase II began, L&A was chosen to prepare the CE as well as the supporting studies. A key task in Phase II was the Section 4(f) documentation for impact to Kinney Fields, a public park owned by Wayne County. L&A led coordination with the park officials and prepared the Section 4(f)/6(f) Determination Form, resulting in a de minimis Section 4(f) finding from ODOT so that the project could move forward with federal funds.
