Runway 6/24 Extension and Safety Improvements

CUYAHOGA COUNTY AIRPORT

The Cuyahoga County Airport is proposing to provide 5,500 feet of usable runway length and to establish compliant Runway Safety Areas per Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements. L&A was responsible for providing studies in support of the Environmental Assessment (EA) for the project. Our assignments included a Phase I Archaeological Survey, a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA), an ecological survey for wetlands, streams and endangered species habitat and attendance at a Jurisdiction Determination visit with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to discuss wetland impacts. L&A also developed the Cumulative Impacts section of the EA and provided assistance with public involvement meetings. A Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the EA is expected from FAA in 2015.
