Annual Groundwater Monitoring

SPRINGFIELD LANDFILL, LLC

To comply with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (OEPA) Construction and Demolition Debris Regulations, OAC 3745-400-10 Paragraph C, Lawhon performs groundwater sampling and reporting for the Springfield Landfill on an annual basis. The scope of work performed by L&A includes water level measurements, well purging and groundwater sampling as recommended in the Ohio EPA Technical Guidance Manual for Groundwater Investigations guidance document. The purpose of the monitoring is to assess hydrological conditions at the site and to determine if there any changes in chemical properties of the site’s groundwater that may be attributable to landfill operations. Findings are compared to the groundwater monitoring parameters included in OAC 3745-400-10 to determine if additional investigation is warranted based on the parameters evaluated.
